Evan Gray elected a Life Member of Wellington Wanderers CC.

Wanderers have great pleasure in announcing that on 2nd June 2022, the Club’s members supported a proposal that Evan Gray be elected a Life Member. Our Club is proud to recognise Evan's outstanding service over the past 17 years in this way.

EJ was originally engaged in 2005 when the Club’s membership was falling, and his enthusiasm and energy at that time, along with the work of others, did much to restore the Club’s fortunes.

In 2007 he was instrumental in instigating what became the annual Governor-General’s XI game; and he arranged the first game against the Willows CC in 2012, which has also continued annually.  Evan has liaised steadily with local colleges to arrange, and even play in, secondary school games and has built up a valuable rapport with Principals and sports coordinators.

Evan has been the backbone of the Wanderers’ CC and his significant service rendered over many years has been of immeasurable value.

Thank you, EJ for everything you have done for the Wanderers CC and youth cricket in Wellington.
