Wanderers CC
Playing Programme.
The Wanderers CC play three types of cricket, for three different level of player and three different purposes. College Matches are competitive games against Secondary Schools in the wider Wellington region. Kindred Matches against fellow Kindred Cricket Clubs around New Zealand, for over 35’s who want to play socially. Vintage Matches for over 35’s who want to play more regular, competitive cricket on Sunday’s in the local Wellington Cricket competition.
College Matches
The Wanderers CC play matches against Colleges throughout the wider Wellington Region. These matches are serious and competitive 50 over matches, for players looking for a stern test against talented young college cricketers in the Wellington region.
Every season, we play fixtures against Whanganui Collegiate, Onslow College, Rathkeale College, St Matthews, Wellington College, Wellington Girls, St Pats Town, Scots College, St Pats Silverstream, Tawa College (Boys & Girls) Rongotai College, Newlands College, HIBS, Hutt Valley High School
(Boys & Girls) and Paraparaumu College.
Kindred Matches
The Wanderers CC play in the New Zealand Over 35’s Club Competition. Kindred Cricket was created so that cricketers over the age of 35 could continue their cricketing careers in the surroundings of a competitive, family-friendly tournament environment.
We have a packed fixture list each season with matches against the likes of: Clifton CCC, Ocean Beach Cricket Club, Greytown CC, Seddon CC, Kaimai Cricket Club, United Country & Vineyard Cricket, Haberdashers CC and more.
If you’ve retired from cricket, or cannot commit your time to serious competitive play, but wish to continue participating for sheer enjoyment, Kindred Cricket is the perfect place to play.
Vintage Matches
The Wanderers ‘Everyone Else’ Team play in the Cricket Wellington Vintage Competition. This is cricket for Members who want to play more regular matches on Sunday’s throughout the season. There are eight fixtures in the competition and you must be over 35 to be eligible to play.
