Wanderers Shine at T15 Tri-Series at Basin Reserve.

In a thrilling display of cricket, Jeremy Dean's sensational 70 off 38 was the showstopper at last Saturday's Wanderers T15 Tri-Series. The match, deemed the effective final against United and Country Vineyards, saw Wanderers triumph after both teams outplayed Seddon Cricket Club earlier in the day. The day kicked off at the crisp hour of 8.30 AM under a serene, windless sky. Despite the dew, Wanderers opted to bowl first against Seddon, a decision that sparked debate as Ben Strang fiercely attacked the bowlers. However, Brett Coffey's masterful leg-cutter turned the tide, claiming two international wickets this season.

Wanderers chased down Seddon's 114 with ease, setting the stage for the next challenge against UCVC. Despite UCVC's struggles, they set a tough 131 in the final game. Yet, Dean's boundary-laden innings and support from Hamish Marshall and Andrew Fullerton-Smith clinched the victory for Wanderers, securing both the Marshall Cup and Cook Strait Classic Cups for the winter.

Meanwhile, the Currie Cup headed back to Blenheim with Seddon. The Basin Reserve was a spectacle, the cricket was top-notch, and the spirit of the game shone through as the teams celebrated a fantastic season of Kindred cricket.

A massive thank you to Ben Castle and Willie Marshall for an impeccably run event, and to Kent Currie and Dave Clouston for bringing together two outstanding touring sides.
