Sun, Cricket, and Camaraderie in Hawkes Bay: Wanderers Kindred Team's Family Tour Highlights

Over this Wellington Anniversary Weekend, our Wanderers Kindred team made their way up to the sunny Hawkes Bay, visiting Clifton CCC for a much-anticipated Family Tour. Battling the heat, our team clinched a victory and faced a narrow defeat. A heartfelt thanks to Clifton for an unforgettable day of cricket, enjoyed by both our players and their families.

Match 1 vs Sherwood Cricket Club

The Wanderers showcased impressive skill, limiting Sherwood to 149 in 20 overs, with standout performances from Jack Castle (2-17) and Jono Friend (2-16). The chase was on point, as Wanderers reached the target with just one wicket down. Duncan Elliot was the star, hitting an unbeaten 101, while Andrew Wilson chipped in with a valuable 30 in their 140-run partnership.

Match 2 vs Clifton CCC

The second game saw Wanderers set a solid 171, thanks to Jeremy Dean's brilliant 83* and his 93-run partnership with Jack Castle, adding 15. Clifton CCC, however, reached our total with two overs to spare, underpinned by Peter Connell's powerful batting. Jason Eaton's bowling effort (3-12) was a highlight in this closely contested match.
